Riding Water Dragons
Learn how to tame and ride your own Water Dragon.
Taming Your Dragon
To tame a Water Dragon, you first need to show respect by bowing to it (hold Shift for about a second). Then, right-click the Dragon to mount it. While mounted, hold 10 or more pieces of meat in your hand and do not dismount until the Dragon is tamed. Be patient, as this process can take some time.

Riding Controls
Once you have tamed a Dragon, you can explore the skies. The controls vary depending on the Dragon's type.
Water Dragons
- Movement: Press W to move forward and use your mouse to steer. Use A and D to walk on the ground.
- Takeoff, Landing & Dismounting:
- Press Space to take off. While flying, press Space again to fly higher.
- To land, hold the S key.
- To dismount, press the Shift key.
- Attacks:
- Hold Left-click for a breath attack.
- While on the ground, Right-click for a powerful melee attack.
- Hold Backward or S + Right-click to create a strong gust of wind with the wings.
- Special Abilities:
- If you fly into a wall, the Dragon will automatically cling to it, using its Wing Horns.
- To destroy blocks, hold Left-click while flying into a wall.
- To change your viewpoint, press Aux1 (E by default).
Scottish Dragons
Scottish Dragons are powerful flyers with a unique momentum-based system and are built for battle.
- Combat Abilities:
- Melee Attack: Press Left-click to lunge forward and bite, both on the ground and in the air.
- Fire Breath: Hold Right-click to unleash a continuous stream of fire.
- Explosive Fireball: While flying, press Space + A (Jump + Left) to launch a massive, terrain-destroying fireball. This has a high cost and a cooldown.
