Talking to Dragons
Learn how to communicate with Water Dragons.
Water Dragons are ancient and intelligent beings. If you show them respect, you can communicate with them directly through a unique chat system. This allows you to ask them questions and give them commands.

How to Start a Conversation
To begin a conversation, stand near a Water Dragon (within about 60 blocks) and type the following command in the chat:
/talk_wtd
The Dragon will acknowledge you, and you can begin conversing by simply typing in the chat. To end the conversation, just say bye, goodbye, or farewell.
Giving Commands
Once in conversation, you can give your tamed Dragon direct orders. Note that most commands only work if you are the Dragon's owner, and some have a cooldown period before they can be used again.
- fly - Commands the Dragon to take off and fly in a circle.
- land - Commands the Dragon to land if it is flying.
- ride - Allows you to mount and ride the Dragon.
- attack - Orders the Dragon to attack a creature you are looking at.
- fire - Commands the Dragon to use its breath weapon.
- follow - Orders the Dragon to follow you.
- stay - Orders the Dragon to stay in its current position.
- wander - Allows the Dragon to wander around freely.
- come here - Calls the Dragon to your position.
- roar - Asks the Dragon to let out a mighty roar.
- stop - Halts any current continuous action, like a breath attack.
- take me to X Y Z - Asks the Dragon to fly you to specific coordinates.
Conversation Topics
You can also ask the Dragon questions about itself and the world. Try asking about:
- Its health, stamina, or hunger levels (e.g., "how much health do you have?").
- Its name, age, or purpose.
- Its thoughts on humans or other Dragons.
- A special secret: try asking "can you teach me magic" and see what happens!
The Dragon has a wide range of responses. Experiment with different questions to learn more about your companion and the lore of the world.
